What is Autolog?

Group for the Automation of Products Identification and Tracking in Manufacturing and Logistics

The Group Autolog aims to study and public dissemination of new automation technologies to identify and track products. The main application that motivated this study is the implementation of these emerging technologies in environments of production and logistics activities

The group is based in Ciudad Real and Cuenca. The group activities are held at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de Ciudad Real and Cuenca Polytechnic, both belonging to the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The Group AutoLog is specialised in artificial intelligence, agent programming, ubiquitous systems and RFID for logistics and automation. The group is working in different industrial projects with several companies. The group works on the design and development of prototypes for our new RFID systems, both for tags and readers for systems such as hardware prototypes plus software for active and passive tags and their readers for applications in medicine, industry and access control. These devices combine RFID with microprocessors and can incorporate sensors (temperature, skin conductivity, radiation, current, pressure, etc). Design of RFID devices (Hardware prototypes plus software for active and passive tags and their readers) for applications in medicine, industry and access control. These devices combine RFID with microprocessors and can incorporate sensors (temperature, skin conductivity, radiation, current, pressure, etc.). Design of application specific tags and readers for 125KHz, 13.56MHz and UHF. Wireless (Bluetooth , Zigbee and WiFi) connection for the readers. Experience in software and firmware development. Equipment and experience in the development of integrated solutions using microcontrollers from different manufacturers (Motorola, Texas Instruments, Silicon Labs, Zworld, Microchip and Philips). Electronic prototyping using EDA, Orcad and Eagle. The group is also the core of “SETRA: Factory of the Future”: The Association for RFID Compliant Intelligent Manufacturing; which is a fast growing group of professors from different Universities (mainly in Spain) with contacts in our respective local industry. This association coordinates the initiatives of different groups interested in the applications of new RFID developments and their effect on production and distribution of manufactured goods.
